San Francisco native Edmund “Mundy” Garcis, age 51, passed away on June 20, 2007 at his home in West Molesey, Surrey, England. Mundy grew up in the Marina and Richmond Districts. He graduated from George Washington High School, where he was All City Forward on the Washington Eagles Varsity basketball team. Mundy received his degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from City College of San Francisco. He later became a Journeyman plumber with UA Local 38. In 1988 he moved to England and he built up his business as a certified personal fitness trainer in London. He became a popular trainer to both regular clients and visiting celebrities, such as Sylvester Stallone. He enjoyed for his many friends and was an excellent chef. He lit up a room when he entered. He loved his family, his extended family and his friends on both sides of the pond. The word "smile" was synonomous with Mundy. May the memory of his smile remain in our memories forever. Mundy is survived by his loving sister, Linda Simon, adoring niece, Michelle Simon and devoted brother-in-law, David Simon, of Malibu CA. Donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
